An exciting experience in the business world awaits secondary school students of the area as they participate in an exciting competition. This Regional “Business Plan Challenge” is sponsored by North Claybelt Community Futures Development Corporation, FedNor and The Business Enterprise Centre. It is a unique competition during which participants embark on an excursion into the entrepreneurial world. This competition offers participants the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Business Plan Challenge 2008

2007Business Plan Competition Winner Corinne CarbonneauStudents will have the opportunity to prepare a business plan that may be used to start a summer business. The “Business Plan Challenge” is a competition where students will have the opportunity to create their own business plan based upon their own business idea. Business plans are evaluated by a team of five judges. Three cash prizes with a total value of $1,750 will be awarded. The first place winner will receive $1,000 and the opportunity to participate in both regional and provincial competitions. Second place and third place winners will receive $500 and $250 respectively. Many other prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories.

This competition involves several secondary schools throughout the North
East, including Kapuskasing, Hearst, Timmins, Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, as well as the Geralton area.

The final date for submission of the completed business plans is May 9th, 2008.

The awards ceremony will take place on May 26th and May 27th, 2008.

This will be an event no one will want to miss!
